The Four States of Society – I. A savage family
Jean Bourdichon, painter of the court in Tours, reflects in this leaf a wonderful atmosphere. And he does so starting from the slightly violet gray and bluish green that he uses in many other illustrations, as well as from the dense sky with the delicate light reflections that seem to emerge from the depth in a picturesque way, contrasting with the graphic accentuation of the rocks, the which project in the central part black shadows on the bushes.
This facsimile single leaf is presented in a standard format of 30 x 40 cm with a black passe-partout. It is accompanied by a diptych in four languages (Spanish, German, French and English) with a description written by Professor Eberhard König.
