French influence on an English Psalter
On each page of the Oscott Psalter there are two golden medallions on a colored background, following the model of the stained glass windows of the French cathedrals of the time. The miniatures of the manuscript were made by different artists. In this folio, the adoration of the Magi to the child Jesus and the appearance in dreams of an angel of the Lord are represented in the central circles.
